A worker was pinned by rebar at the State Pier in New London.

A worker at the state pier in New London has been transported to an area hospital after a bundle of rebar pinned the man by his ankle.

The man was part of a team unloading rebar from a ship at the State Pier when the incident happened, according to town officials.

Rescuers used a crane to lift the load off the man's ankle and to take the person off the boat/
