And by the way, they serve this Blueberry French Toast. Like we needed another reason.

Feeling blue from the winter? It's, technically over. The Spring Equinox is March 20 -- today.

And to celebrate the arrival of the season, a diner in Orange is celebrating and you're benefiting.

Why today? Because this is the Vernal Equinox and the name of the restaurant is, well, the Equinox Diner.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all free in a way. You pay for your food today but, all day, every customer will receive a gift card matching the amount spent on that day. That means, if your bill comes to $36, you’ll get a gift card for $36.

“We want to show our appreciation to all our customers and the Spring Equinox is the perfect day to say, thanks.” Jimmy Doukas, the diner's owner, said in a news release.

But wait! There's more!

Customers will also receive a complimentary glass of champagne. For those too young to tip one back, there will be free gifts and toys.

Doors opened at 7 a.m. at the Equinox Diner, 285 Boston Post Road in Orange. The deal continues to midnight.

The owners are also planning to open a location in Mystic in mid-March.
