Parents got good deals in Enfield Thursday.

Some thrifty parents got a deal in Enfield Thursday when they went shopping for back-to-school-clothes.

Allied Attic's, an Enfield thrift store, ran a promotion Thursday for parents to get clothes cheap – as in $1 per item.

Parents who apparently got the tip that there was one heck of a deal started arriving with their children 30 minutes before the store opened, eager to find a much needed deal.

Marisol Suarez, the manager at Allied's Attic, business has increased over the last few months and she hopes many people will participate and take advantage of dollar days.

On average days, an item of clothing can run anywhere from $1 to $5, or even a little more, but on Thursday, every piece of clothing is $1.

Kathy Kondracki was shopping there Thursday for six grandchildren.

"That's a bill between $100 at Walmart and $10 dollars here,” she said. “Ten pairs of jeans, ten dollars.”

This is the first time Allied's Attic has held a back to school sale like this.  Dollar days runs until 7 p.m. The thrift store is located at 581 Enfield St.
