Updated: Young Karl Rove Tale Tops (the Complete) 2010 Blacklist

Franklin Leonard's 2010 Blacklist comes out today, his annual compilation of the favorite unmade scripts in Hollywood as voted on by some 300 of his colleagues.

Some of the films that have graced past lists are "The Social Network," "Inglourious Basterds," "(500) Days of Summer," "Superbad," "Juno," and "The Queen." Of course "Cop Out" also once made the list, but, hey, what're ya gonna do?

Topping the list is a film about Karl "Turdblossom" Rove first cut his teeth as a campaign trickster working for Lee Atwater on a college campaign. But the story among the top 10 that really grabbed our attention was "Argo," about CIA Master of Disguise Tony Mendez and his team that smuggled Americans out of Tehran during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. We first heard about the project while talking with Mendez the night we took him and his wife Jonna, also a former CIA Master of Disguise, to see "Salt" (he liked it more than she did, Angelina Jolie was the difference maker).
