Keeping It Corky

BE offers loyal fans a discount and the WWW Guide that has nothing to do with the Internet!

PUT A CORK IN IT: Greenwich-based H.H. Brown's brand, Kork-Ease is releasing an eco-friendly collection next Spring, according to WWD. While there's something charmingly quirky about cork, no matter how good their environmental pledge was, there was no denying that their dated designs were in need of a serious makeover. We love the cork tennies, but we'll leave their clumsy, rounded soles and 70's color palette to the first generation to love them. According to their website and WWD, the collection won't be available in any Connecticut brick and mortar locations yet (what's up with that??) but will be available in January on NeimanMarcus.com.

FIRST PRIZE: Bare Escentuals retail locations are celebrating their Glamour Magazine Best Foundation Award by rewarding their customers with 20% off today (8/20/09) from 6 to 9 PM EST. Additional festive activities will commence - like a raffle for $100 BE bucks and general cheer - but mineral-based party hats are not included, at least to our knowledge. Check out their powder-based SPF 30 (which we just loved) or their new Eye Lining tutorial kit ($38USD) - complete with two smokey powder liners (sultry mocha and sparkly charcoal) and a magnetic liner-brush, with changeable tips. Visit a Bare Escentuals store in Farmington, Danbury and Trumbull.

WWW DOT COM: We love the snarky commentary and decoupage street style graphics from Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power, editors behind fashion and style blog, Who What Wear - the fashion journalist's first questions of choice. Now, they've created a pocket guide - literally, measuring in at 6.5" x 9" - of their style expertise. From how to take an outfit from runway to real life and vintage shopping guidelines, Kerr and Power have you covered. Order "Who What Wear: Celebrity and Runway Style for Real Life" online at Shopbop.  Or then again, you should also keep NBCConnecticut.com and Want This on your mobile device...
