Boy Springs Dog From Pound, Gets Arrested: Cops

The problem: he had been accused of animal cruelty

Officials took 17-year-old Torrington boy’s dog, so he decided to steal it right back, cops said. The problem is that he had been accused of animal cruelty, and now he’s also accused of trespassing, larceny, burglary and tampering with the canine evidence.

On June 30, police received a complaint about the way the boy was treating the dog while on the grounds of Torrington High School, arrested him and the dog went to the pound.

On Tuesday, seven days later, police got a call from the pound. At some point early on Tuesday morning, the boy allegedly broke into the Torrington Dog Pound and took back the dog.

They tracked down the boy at home, found the dog and arrested the boy on new criminal charges.

The pup is back at the Torrington Dog Pound.
