What You're Doing Tonight – Feb. 5

On Stage: Enjoy the sounds and sentiments Ladysmith Black Mambazo tonight. The group will be at Palmer Auditorium at Connecticut College in New London. They've performed their native South African musical traditions for more than 30 years now. Tickets are half-price for students.

Opera Night: Here's something you don't see every day.  An opera double bill packed with witchcraft and wonder. The program includes Purcell's "Dido and Aeneas" and Ravel's "L'enfant et les Sortil." You can catch it at the University of Hartford in West Hartford tonight.

Cultural Celebration: From 6-7:30 p.m. tonight, you can attend the opening reception of Freedom Dancing at the Barnum Museum in Bridgeport. It's a new exhibit in honor of Black History Month and Woman's History Month and features the works of Bridgeport artist Shanna Melton. Melton will be there reading some of her poetry tonight.  The event is free with museum admission.
