What You're Doing Tonight- Jan. 8

The Art of Weather

Former NBC 30 Meteorologist Art Horn will teach your children about the wonders of weather today. He's speaking at The Farmington Library from 7 - 8:30 p.m. and will answer questions like "does lightning ever strike the same place twice" and "is it ever too cold for snow to fall"?

Look Closely

Learn all about how telescopes work tonight. The Leitner Family Observatory and Planetarium in New Haven is offering a free course in the stars tonight.  You can bring your own telescope and get a personal tutorial or learn how to use one of the amateur telescopes there.  Registration's required.

Learn to Cook

Metro Bis (and NBC 30 guest chef) Chris Prosperi will be at Sur la Table in Collinsville tonight.  He's hosting a Steakhouse Workshop to teach you how to pick the cut and cook it to bring out the best flavor. It's $60 bucks - that includes the lesson and a ton of food.
