A hurricane watch was issued for part of North Carolina's coast as the first named tropical storm of the season gathered strength early Wednesday, NBC News reported. The National Hurricane Center said Tropical Storm Arthur was slowly drifting north and becoming better organized. Arthur could turn into a hurricane by Thursday, according to The Weather Channel. The storm also threatens to put a damper on July 4th celebrations.
