A video showing a political showdown has gone viral.
The video, posted on YouTube, shows an outburst at the West Haven Democratic Committee meeting last week. It happened as Committee Chair Stephanie Marazzi and former Chair James Morrissey battled over rules that that decide which candidates can receive party endorsements. From the video, it sounds like others got involved, including Morrissey’s wife.
The meeting got so loud, police were called in for the disturbance, according to the New Haven Register.
The State Democratic Party received 14 complaints after the outburst and set up a three-member dispute resolution panel to hear both sides of the argument.
Both Marazzi and Morrissey were scheduled to meet with the panel Monday night in Hartford. It will ultimately be up to the panel to decide how the Committee should proceed.
