Bristol Soup Kitchen Closed after Fire

The soup kitchen will be closed again Sunday pending an investigation on the cause of the fire.

The Christian Fellowship in Bristol is closed after an overnight fire left the exterior and parts of the kitchen and dining room damaged.
 

The Bristol Fire Department responded to the fire, which started in a shed attached to the church. The fire took about three hours to put out according to the fire department. The investigative team was also called to the scene.

Michelle Palmer, promotional director of the fellowship, said that the soup kitchen usually run out of the fellowship, 43 Prospect St., would be closed today and possibly tomorrow while the health department inspects the damage caused by the fire.

Palmer said that the health department was on the scene to inspect the damage to the kitchen. There were no injuries reported.
