A woman has died after being pulled from the water by bystanders at Bolton Lake in Bolton Saturday.
The elderly woman was pulled from the water Saturday afternoon, according to Tolland County dispatchers.
First responders performed CPR on the victim before rushing her to Manchester Hospital. On Sunday, state police confirmed she died.
State police identified the victim as Virginia Bergstrom, 89, of Bolton.
Police said occupants in a nearby boat noticed Bergstrom in the water and pulled her to shore, then called 911. Neighbors reported seeing her swimming in the lake about an hour before finding her in distress.
