Crooks Caught Catching Some Z's

Note to bad guys: One of you should keep an eye out for the cops

Two South Carolina men arrested for car theft in Naugatuck made it pretty easy for police to find them.

Matthew Davis, 19, and Dustin Miller, 20, were found sleeping in a stolen vehicle early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to Mountview Plaza off Rubber Avenue and found the two men asleep in a 2005 Volvo XC90. The car was stolen in Horry County, S.C., July 4, police said. They reportedly drove to Naugatuck because Davis used to live here.

Also in the car, police found a BB gun, folding knife, credit cards, glass smoking pipe and handicapped parking placard. The credit cards and handicapped plates had been stolen from vehicles Davis and Miller admitted breaking into in Naugatuck on Friday night, police said.

Miller is charged with first-degree larceny, credit card theft, weapons in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. Davis is charged with the same, as well as sixth-degree larceny.
