Depressed Man Has Something to Smile About
A former adult education teacher has been awarded nearly $26,000 on his complaint that he was discriminated against because of his depression. Robert Lucibello, of East Haven, was a full-time teacher in 1999 when he was diagnosed with depression. Lucibello claimed he was medically incapable of completing is re certification courses and found it difficult to continue working full time. He said school officials told him to resign and he would be re-assigned, but he was ultimately not rehired.
Ashes Stolen in New Milford
A New Milford couple is accused of stealing a variety of items, including an urn with human ashes. Christopher Farrell, 22, and Kindra Covillion, 21, had broken into several businesses to support their drug habit, police said. The couple was arraigned Monday. Police say they admitted to stealing from 18 homes and businesses in Sherman, Roxbury and New Milford.
Crane Collapse Traps One at Casino

One man was trapped when a crane collapsed at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews were working on pulling the man to safety Tuesday. At least two people suffered minor injuries, officials said.
Mohegan Sun Boulevard is closed.
Man Accused of Choking Boy
A Redding man has been accused of choking a boy who kept sticking his hand out of the window as they traveled on the Merritt Parkway. Mark Darlington is charged with third-degree strangulation and risk of injury to children and is accused of stabbing his girlfriend's son in the throat after he refused to pull his hand back inside the car.
Man Shot, Killed in Hartford
Hartford Police are investigating a shooting that left a 20-year-old man dead Tuesday morning on Gillette Street. Police found the man suffering from several gunshot wounds. He later died. Police say they have no suspects.
New Haven Police Investigate Shooting
New Haven Police are searching for suspects Tuesday after a man in his late 20s was shot in the chest. The victim was shot around 10 p.m. Monday on County Street, police said. His name and condition have not been released.
