Fewer Lifeguards at Connecticut Parks as Fall Approaches

Connecticut officials are advising anyone planning to visit a state park that there will be fewer lifeguards on duty as the end of summer approaches.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said many lifeguards leave their positions this time of year to return to school.

Swimming areas will be guarded wherever possible through Labor Day weekend, but most of the state park swimming areas will not be attended by lifeguards on weekdays between now and Labor Day on Sept. 7, according to officials from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
