If you’re not already booked every night after work this week, then you must not know what’s happening.
The Connecticut Film Festival starts Tuesday night in Danbury and offers six glorious nights of film, music, parties and mixing with people whose jobs are probably more interesting than what any of us do for work.
There’s something for everyone.
One film that we just like the sound of is “Queer Duck: The Movie.” The Simpson writer Mike Reiss is behind this one, so you know it’s going to be funny.
It’s a full-length feature animated musical about Queer Duck and his fabulous gay animal pals, Openly Gator and Bi Polar Bear. British TV viewers named it "One of the 100 Greatest Cartoons of All Time." If you’re free Friday, June 5 at 3:15 p.m., you can see this one at The Palace Theater.
If you like romantic comedy, then get to the festival for opening night.
TiMER is the first film up after the red carpet and it’s getting a lot of attention. From the trailer, this one looks pretty promising.

The film’s about a high-tech search for love. A wrist implant counts down to the exact moment when people will lay eyes on their soul mate. But it doesn’t seem to work for Oona -- Emma Caulfield from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She’s pushing 30 and without aid of the implant, she starts falling in love the old-fashioned way. After the film, there’s a party.
There are also serious films, like “Begging Naked,” a documentary about a teen runaway and prostitute in New York. There are also films by Connecticut filmmakers, so you can support our local artists.

There's even a collection dedicated to short bicycle films, we guess for people who just love cycles. So, would those be bike shorts?
You can also get an international experience at the festival with films from 13 countries.
