Police Identify Hartford's Fifth Homicide Victim of 2019, Arrest Murder Suspect

    A man who was stabbed multiple times in Hartford Thursday night has died and police have arrested a suspect on a murder charge.

    Officials said the stabbing happened on Main Street around 9:30 p.m.

    The victim, identified as 40-year-old Shawn Banks, was initially rushed to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries early Friday morning, according to police.

    Investigators have arrested 44-year-old Mayceo Montford in the case. He was charged with one count of murder and is being held on a $1 million bond.

    Detectives do not believe this incident is connected to any other violent crimes that occurred in Hartford this week.
