Milford police have arrested a home health aide who is accused of stealing more than $33,000 from an elderly client over a six-month period.
Police received a complaint in December reporting several checks had been stolen from an elderly Milford resident, so they investigated and identified Sherry Farley, 43, of North Haven, as the suspect.
Farley, a private aide hired to work at the victim's home, is accused of stealing 23 personal checks from the victim, cashing them at several banks in the area, and stealing a combined amount of more than $33,000, according to police.
Farley was charged with first-degree larceny and third-degree forgery.
She was released on a promise to appear and is due in court on March 3.
