Waterbury Man Hit By Car in Somers Has Died: Police

    Police were investigating an accident after a person was struck on Route 190 in Somers on Wednesday.

    A 52-year-old Waterbury man who was hit by car on Route 190 in Somers on Wednesday morning has died, according to state police.

    Police said Bret Colucci, 52, of Waterbury, was directing westbound traffic into the eastbound lane at 11:16 a.m. when a 93-year-old Enfield man driving a Toyota Camry hit him.

    LifeStar brought Colucci from Johnson Memorial Hospital to Hartford Hospital, according to officials from LifeStar, and state police said Colucci died of the injuries.

    State police are investigating and ask anyone with information about the incident to call 860-896-3222, extension 8001.
