A New Haven man who was asleep in his backyard after throwing a party the night before was the victim of an attempted robbery, according to police.
Police responded to an Asylum Street home around 7 a.m. on Saturday and interviewed the resident, who told police that he’d thrown a party the night before, slept in the backyard and woke up to find a man trying to rob him.
The resident ran through a neighbor’s yard and said the would-be robber did not follow him.
Police noted that the resident who reported the robbery was still intoxicated.
