    Crews Work to Recover Body From Pond in Griswold

    A state police dive team and other agencies were working to recover a body from Pachaug Pond in Griswold on Tuesday.

    A snowmobiler who had been missing since December was found dead in Pachaug Pond in Griswold Tuesday, according to officials from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

    The body of 56-year-old John Dubois was discovered on the surface of the pond, according to DEEP.

    He had been missing since Dec. 16 after going snowmobiling.

    The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined his death was accidental and he died of blunt injury to the head and submersion in cold water.
