Police Arrest Two After Lengthy Foot Pursuit

Police tase and arrest two suspects after a half mile foot pursuit.

Plainfield Police arrested two burglary suspects after chasing them through several wooded areas in the backyard of residences on High Street.

Police responded to the area of Stanley Drive in the Moosup section of Plainfield around 3:30 a.m on Sunday for a report of a break-in to a motor vehicle.

While at the scene, officers spotted two males running through several yards nearby and chased them for about half a mile before the suspects were shot with stun guns and apprehended.

Matthew Mineau, 19, and Christopher Levasseur, 26, were charged with several counts of burglary, larceny and credit card crimes.

They were held on bond pending their arraignments in Danielson Superior Court on Monday.

Plainfield Police said that the investigation is ongoing.

They are urging residents who are missing items stored in their unsecured vehicles to call the police station at 860-564-0804.
