A 44-year-old man is accused of shooting someone in the buttocks in a New London home early Friday morning.
Police responded to Home Street after the female victim called 911 at 1:27 a.m. to report she’d been shot and investigators identified the shooter as 44-year-old George Taylor, a resident of the home where the shooting happened.
The victim and Taylor, who had a superficial cut to his left hand, were transported to the Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.
Investigators located a Taurus 9mm semi-auto handgun at the scene and seized it.
Taylor, who police said is a convicted felon, was charged with first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and alteration of firearm identification mark, number, or name.
