    Swimming areas are closed at five state parks today because of bacteria.

    Swimming areas are closed at Chatfield Hollow State Park in Killingworth, Indian Well State Park in Shelton, Kettletown State Park in Southbury, Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middlefield and Wharton Brook State Park in Wallingford.

    Staff from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection analyze water samples at the Department of Public Health Lab for the presence of certain bacteria and they are conducting more tests today.
