Former University of Hartford basketball player Amanda Weaver is fighting colon cancer and her university’s basketball team is coming together this weekend to raise money for her.
Weaver, a native of York, Pennsylvania and a 2011 University of Hartford graduate, was diagnosed with colon cancer in June, according to university officials.
The Walk for Weaver event will be held on Saturday at the Reich Family Pavilion at the school, located at 200 Bloomfield Ave. in West Hartford.
The cost to walk or sponsor a walker is $10.
Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the walk is form 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
