UConn Experienced Power Outages From Storm

The power was restored as of 11:30 a.m.

The severe line of storms that rolled across the state on Tuesday night left the University of Connecticut, Storrs campus, with intermittent power outages on Wednesday.

University officials said that large areas of the south end of campus lost power on Wednesday morning as power crews continued to carry out repairs.

Power was fully restored to the area affected by 11:30 a.m., according to UConn’s Information Technology site.

The storm system that swept across the state is blamed for toppling trees and knocking out power to thousands of Connecticut and Massachusetts residents.

Connecticut Light & Power said that more than 13,000 customers lost power at the peak of the storms. According to CL&P, about 1,400 customers are still without electricity this morning.
