Uninsured Driver Hits Cop: Police

The officer and suspect are hospitalized after suffering minor injuries.

A 27-year-old man was arrested after a collision with a Hartford police officer and the officer and driver are both being treated for injuries.

The police officer was driving southbound on Weston Street around 1:11 a.m. on Monday when an uninsured driver in an unregistered vehicle struck the front of the cruiser, according to police.

The police officer was taken to St. Francis Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Police have identified the suspect as Victor Gaudalupe. He was also taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries.

Gaudalupe was arrested. Among the citations issued was misuse of plates, according to police. Police are awaiting toxicology reports.
