West Haven Woman Killed in New Haven Crash

    A West Haven woman has died after a crash in New Haven on Saturday night.

    Police responded to the intersection of Kimberly Avenue and Ella T. Grasso Boulevard around 11 p.m. after getting a report of a crash with injuries.

    A Ford pickup truck driven by a 21-year-old New Haven resident and a Honda minivan driven by a 62-year-old West Haven resident had collided as one of the vehicles turned at the intersection, according to investigators.

    A passenger in the minivan, later identified as 55-year-old Kathleen Farrell, of West Haven, was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, police said.

    Other occupants of the vehicles were treated at the scene and Yale-New Haven Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

    The New Haven Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
