The Republican candidate for a state representative seat in Bristol has been found dead in his home.
Derek Jerome Sr., 38, apparently killed himself, police said.
Bristol's GOP town chairman found him in his garage Tuesday with the car running.
Jerome left a note saying he had financial problems, police said.
He was running against incumbent Frank Nicastro, who called Jerome a gentleman and said his heart went out to Jerome's family.
