The American Red Cross had to cancel 11 blood drives today because of the storm and the governor is urging residents who can donate blood to do so when the drives resume.
“Today’s cancelations put an increased strain on the supply of blood for the state,” Gov. Dannel Malloy said, and he urged people to consider donating blood if they can.
“The loss of the blood drives due to weather will put a severe strain on,” he said.
