Connecticut Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz has dropped an attempt to keep sealed a videotaped deposition in her lawsuit against her own office.
Bysiewicz's is suing to have a judge rule that she is qualified to run for attorney general. The video shows a Republican Party attorney questioning her. A judge last week ordered it temporarily sealed, but was expected to lift that ban later Tuesday.
Bysiewicz's attorney, Wesley Horton, told the judge that after reviewing the state's open records law, he believes the video should be released.
The Associated Press and several other media outlets have requested copies of the tape under the Freedom of Information Act.
Bysiewicz sued her own office and the state Democratic Party over whether she has the 10 years of active legal experience required to run for attorney general.
