Civil Suit Over Deadly Crash Heads to Court

A civil lawsuit over a 2006 plane crash in Connecticut is going to trial next week in Norfolk, Va.

Preston Fussell is one of three people who survived the crash, which happened when the men were flying to a charity golf tournament.  The Learjet they chartered crashed into the Long Island Sound near the Groton-New London airport and the two pilots were killed.

A report from the National Transportation Safety Board blamed the crash partly on the crew, saying they didn't monitor the jet's altitude.  According to the report, fog was also a factor.

Fussell filed suit against Norfolk, Va.- based International Jet Charter Inc. and his case is scheduled for Monday.

The other two survivors, Kent Fortner and Douglas Fuller, are scheduled to have their cases heard in March.
