Reports of a body found at Miller's Pond on Tuesday night were unfounded, DEEP said.
Crews responded to reports of a possible drowning and body found at Miller's Pond, which straddles both Haddam and Durham, around 8 p.m.
DEEP EnCon and other local teams worked to clear the scene.
