A Plainfield restaurant and several nearby businesses were damaged by fire early Wednesday morning.
A truck driver who was in the area called officials around 3:30 a.m. to report the fire in the Norwich Road plaza.
When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting out the windows O'Connor's Steak & Seafood. Fire crews believe the fire started in the restaurant.
The dining room was heavily damaged by fire.
Neighboring businesses suffered smoke and water damage.
