Teen Injured in Homemade Explosive Incident

A teenager has lost two fingers after an incident involving a homemade explosive device in Hartford Sunday night.

Hartford police and bomb squad responded to a home on Gray Street after the teen was injured while handling a homemade explosive.

Authorities said the teen did not know what the device he was holding was and was not involved in making it.

According to police, the explosive was about the size of a golf ball and appears to have been created with common household products.
