Connecticut lawmakers have set a hearing on UConn Health's management of taxpayer dollars and its transfer of inmate health care to the Department of Correction.
Leaders of the Public Health and Government Administration and Elections committees will hold the hearing Monday.
State auditors in May raised concerns about financial controls at the UConn Health campus in Farmington in the two fiscal years that ended in 2015 and 2016. The findings included inadequate information to support contract awards, rehired retirees working longer than allowed and unauthorized compensatory time payments to employees.
The transfer of prisoner care to the Correction Department this month came after auditors found UConn Health was providing inadequate care.
UConn officials said they have addressed or are addressing auditors' concerns. The center's annual expenses top $1 billion.
