Two women and 10 children are without a home after a fire ripped through their house on Cook Ave. in Meriden Monday night.
The Meriden fire department responded to reports of a fire at 227 Cook Ave around 7:40 p.m.
When they arrived, they discovered the fire had started in the first floor of the two-story home.
Firefighters were able to knock down the flames quickly but not before they spread throughout the entire home.
The residents of the home all made it out safely without injuries.
