An Enfield man has been arrested, accused of stealing $8,000 jewelry to pay for his heroin habit, police said.
Police charged Ian Grimsley, 26, for the burglary of an Abbe Road home in October 2011.
Investigators said pawn shop records show a friend of Grimsley’s sold the jewelry.
When police found Grimsley, he admitted to burglarizing the South Windsor home to support a heroin habit, police said.
Grimsley has been charged with burglary in the third degree and larceny in the third degree. He is being held on $50,000 bond.
South Windsor police expect to make another arrest when they find the man they believe sold the jewelry.
Grimsley was held on a $50,000 court surety bond and arraigned.
