The report of an attempted abduction near the Mystic Seaport on October 29th was made up, according to police.
A boy, 10, had reported two men attempted to grab him and put him in a van. Police assigned extra patrols in the area, and upon further investigation, determined the report was false.
The police are working with the boy and his family to bring closure to the case.
