Route 6 in Columbia has reopened to traffic following a serious accident involving a tractor trailer and another vehicle.
Columbia firefighters say a Lifestar helicopter was called to the scene and has transported one motorist to Hartford Hospital.
Route 6 is only open to alternating one lane traffic. The tractor trailer is still spread across the road and crews are working to clean up debris from the accident. No word yet on when the road will reopen to two lanes of traffic.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
