Part of Main Street (Route 10) in Southington was shut down Wednesday night after an SUV crashed into a pole.
A witness provided video to NBC Connecticut, which showed the car come around a corner. The car appears to start sliding as it takes the turn and then crashes head-on into the pole.
The neighbor, who dialed 911, reported that two people were already out of the car when emergency crews arrived and that they were taken away by ambulance.
Main Street was shut down between Chestnut Street and Bristol Street while crews made repairs.
Freezing rain Wednesday afternoon and evening created icy conditions throughout the state. Drivers are advised to look out for black ice and slippery patches.
