A fight over a game of pool led to the stabbing death of a North Haven bartender, according to police.

Christopher Hall, 47, died after being stabbed once in the chest inside Doran's Bar at 80 Old Broadway on Monday.

Mary Ames, 47, was arrested, accused of stabbing Hall during an altercation during a game of billiards at the bar.

A 911 call reporting the stabbing was made just before 1 a.m.

Hall was gravely injured when emergency workers arrived and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told investigators that Mary Ames fled after the altercation.

Her son, Michael Ames, 24, is accused of driving the getaway car and was also arrested.

Mary Ames has a criminal history and brought the knife to the bar, police said. She was charged with murder and is being held on $1 million bond.

Michael Ames, who lives with his mother, was charged with hindering prosecution. His bond was set at $100,000.
