The reincarnation of New Haven's Narcotics Unit relaunched Sunday, almost 2 years after scandal brought it down.
With the help of the DEA, the 12 unit team trained and will now handle the city's drug cases and those criminals pushing drugs on the street.
In 2007, the unit disbanded when Lt. Billy White was arrested for taking bribes and stealing government money . The 39 year veteran was sentenced to 38 month in prison last August. Two others were also arrested and convicted on corruption charges.
State Police handled drug cases until NHPD was able reorganization the unit.
