A man jumped onto a roof when construction equipment he was in fell into power lines at Farmington Avenue and Allen Street in New Britain on Thursday afternoon, according to the fire chief.
When the man in the boom lift felt it start to tip, he disconnected the harness and jumped onto the building, which is under construction, officials said.
The streetlights are out in the area and the power company is turning off power so the lift can be removed.
The intersection of Farmington and Allen is closed.
No one was hurt.
