Prep School Gets Giants Gift

The family of a late New York Giants co-owner has given a Washington private prep school the biggest gift in school history.

The Gunnery is receiving the giant gift of $7 million from the family of former New York Giants co-owner Bob Tisch. His two sons, Steve and Jonathan Tisch, attended the northwest hills school.

Officials at the 159-year-old school said the money will be used to expand and renovate the main academic building, enhance the Tisch Library and add to the endowment for academics.

Tisch, who died in 2005, was also the nation's postmaster general in the mid-1980s and chairman and director of the Loews Corp.

Tisch's widow, Joan, and sons gave the gift to the school.

Steve Tisch is now chairman and executive vice president of the Giants, and Jonathan Tisch is the team's treasurer.
