Multiple state parks have reached capacity on Sunday.
The parks that are full and can no longer accomodate new vehicles are:
- Squantz Pond State Park in New Fairfield
- Miller's Pond State Park in Durham
- Bigelow Hollow State Park in Union
- Mount Tom State Park in Litchfield
- Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown
- The Pattaconk Lake Recreation Area in Cockaponset State Forest in Chester
- Scantic River State Park in Enfield
- Gardner Lake State Park in Salem
- Black Rock State Park in Torrington

Temperatures on Sunday were expected to reach around 100 degrees inland and 90 along the shoreline with heat index values of 110 inland and upper 90s at the shore.
