Officials ID Man Involved in Police Shooting

NBC Connecticut

Officials have identified a man involved in an officer-involved shooting in Cromwell Tuesday.

Connecticut State Police said it started when Cromwell police were called to help with a probation check on Salem Drive in Cromwell. Officers said the subject of that check, 36-year-old Samuel Moore, retreated to the back of the home, then, after officers established a perimeter around the home, got into a vehicle to try to leave.

Moore came into contact with an officer on the outer perimeter, which is when that officer fired his weapon.

Police said no one was hurt. More details were not immediately released.

The Waterbury State's Attorney's Office and Connecticut State Police are investigating. The Cromwell Police Department is also conducting an internal affairs investigation.
