Firefighters responded to a small fire in Milford on Monday afternoon that sent smoke into two neighboring stores.
The owners of Liquid Lunch, at 84 Broad Street, called the fire department at 11:20 a.m. and firefighters discovered a small fire in the furnace of Green Cleaners, at 80 Broad Street.
It had been confined to the walls closest to thr furnace, but smoke traveled into Liquid Lunch and Arciuolo’s shoe store, the oldest shoe store in the state of Connecticut.
The scene was under control as of 11:40 a.m. and no one was injured.
The building inspector and health inspector were also called to check the property and businesses.
