Police have identified the suspect of an attempted break-in in Manchester as “Jane Doe.”
Police Thursday were looking into the possibility that a would-be burglar in Manchester was a serial rapist. Friday, they learned the burglar had no sinister intentions at all.
The culprit that attempted to break in to an occupied home on Helaine Road sometime between 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday morning was a deer.
A neighbor reported seeing the animal hit the home.
What police thought could have been an attempted burglary was in the same neighborhood as two rapes in recent years that had been linked by DNA evidence. Police did a DNA analysis on the blood and determined the culprit was an animal, but not human, police said.
