Aided by rain and cooler temperatures, firefighters advanced against the deadly Black Forest wildfire in Colorado that has now charred close to 500 homes, NBC News reported. The worst blaze in the state's history was 55 percent contained by Saturday night and evacuation orders were lifted for thousands of residents of Colorado Springs. Friday night "was a success and was kind of that turning point that we’ve been looking for," said El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa. The fire, threatening the state's second-largest city, has destroyed entire neighborhoods, killed two people and forced close to 40,000 more to flee.
